After 23 years of faithful service providing trips for people who wouldn’t otherwise have access to the beautiful canal, Richard’s Endeavour is in need of major repair and a new engine is on order to be fitted in May. Meanwhile temporary repairs have been carried out which have a limited life. The new engine is costing the charity £11850 excluding VAT and this is stretching our resources beyond what we can realistically afford. We always maintain the boat to a high standard as reliability is vital with vulnerable people on board. We keep our charges for trips as low as we can although these do cover normal running expenses which include insurance, mooring fees, CRT license, provisions, boat maintenance and promotional costs. All our trustees and crews are volunteers and everything except book- keeping is done by our amazing volunteers to keep costs down.
